| We are a non-profit community service under the direction of a Volunteer Board of management. We serve the residents of the Town & County of Stettler and receive our funding through Family and Community Support Services. Our goal is to provide accurate up-to-date information on community services, businesses, and programs and to make the appropriate referrals whenever necessary. Our mandate is to link people in need with the resources available. PROGRAMS WE OFFER:
Assistance with telephone inquiries of filling out forms for Old Age Security, Canadian Pension Plan, Alberta Seniors Benefit, Alberta Blue Cross, and other pension forms.
Books, videos, DVD's and pamphlets on a wide variety of topics which can be signed out for a one week period
The Volunteer Centre promotes volunteerism in the area. We recruit and refer volunteers for community agencies and maintain a current list of volunteer opportunities.
Provides direction, support, advocacy, and follow up to people interested in pursuing private Guardianship for a dependant adult. This is a do-it-yourself alternative through a self-help kit which provides all the necessary information to make an initial review application for guardianship without the need to access a lawyer.
This calendar keeps track of community events in Stettler and the surrounding area. To view the events for this month, click the Community Calendar link above. If you would like to submit an event for next month's calendar, please email Lorraine at lorraine@stettlervolunteer.com
This free tax program is offered to families or individuals with an annual income of $25 000 or less. It is offered year round and deals with basic income tax returns.
